1 1/2 to 2 lbs. ground beef
1 onion
1 to 1 1/2 tsp. garlic salt
1 tbsp. chili powder (you can add up to 1/2 tsp. more, to taste)
1 to 1 1/2 tsp. oregano
1 can tomato sauce
3/4 cup flour
2 3/4 to 3 cups water
1 lb. grated cheese
1 pkg. corn tortillas
salt and pepper
Cook hamburger (salt and pepper) and then add onions; cook till soft. Add garlic salt, oregano, and chili powder (you can add the smaller amount or up to the larger amount, to taste). Sprinkle flour over that and stir it in. Add water slowly, while stirring. Add tomato sauce. Cook until it thicken. Remove from heat.
Spread a thin layer on bottom of 9x13 pan and top with a layer of tortillas. Spread another layer of mixture, top with cheese, then tortillas. Repeat with another layer of mixture, and top with cheese (repeat layering process until mixture is gone, ending with cheese on top).
Bake at 350 degrees for about a 1/2 hour or until cheese is bubbly.
Serve topped with shredded lettuce and sour cream (optional).
